Certificate in Governance Practice. The
certificate had six modules covering
Governance Essentials; Registered Clubs
Act; Not-for-Profit Board Secretary;
Duties of Officers and Directors;
Meetings, Minutes and Resolutions
and Assessing, Analysing and Treating
Risks. This is the first formal education
opportunity offered through GMA
NSW and will be a valuable tool for the
participants and their Clubs.

GOLF Queensland have farewelled
their long-serving Golf Operations
Coordinator Christian Gillott, who
has left to take up the position of Golf
Operations Manager at The Lakes Golf
Club in Sydney. Gillott, who earlier
this year became one of the country’s
youngest nationally accredited match
referees when he officiated at the
Handa Australian Women’s Open
in Melbourne, coincidentally finds
himself at the centre of the action
for this year’s Australian Men’s Open
championship which will be held at
The Lakes in December. Gillott joined
Golf Queensland in August 2007 in
the newly created position of Golf
Operations assistant only a month after
the announcement of the amalgamation
between the Queensland Golf Union
and Women’s Golf Queensland. He was
then promoted to the position of Golf
Operations Coordinator having taken
on extra responsibilities in the area of
tournament delivery, rules advice and
course rating.;
